Studies of Serum Protein of Various Liver Diseases in Korean
Choi Kwang-Ung

Liu Bang-Hyun
Abstract
Studies of serum protein fractionation were carried out on sixty patients with liver cirrhosis admitted to Busan National University Hospital from March 1973 to July 1976. This study was carried out with Beckman Model R system, Durrum type cell, and - scanned with Model RB Analytrol. Schleicher and Schuell 2043A paper was used with diethyl barbituric acid-sodium diethyl barbiturate buffer, pH, 8.6, ionic strength, 0. 075 and stained with 0. 1% bromphenol blue. The relationship between electrophoretic patterns of serum proteins and serum bilirubin, colloidal reaction, and j3-r bridging were observed in the 60 cases of liver cirrhosis.
The¢¥ results were as follows:
1. 96.7% of the liver cirrhosis showed decreased serum albumin and increased r globulin.
The ascitic group showed a greater decrease of albumin and a marked increased of r globulin than the non-ascitic group.
2. In 60 cases of liver cirrhosis, TTT abnormality was 51 cases (85. 0%) and CCF abnormality was 41 cases (68.3%). -
3. The relationship between serum r globulin and colloidal reaction (TTT. CCF) was relatively correlated but not outstanding.
4. The occurrence of 9-r bridging in ascitic group of liver cirrhosis was 46.5% and non-ascitic group was 17.7% and correlated with serum¢¥r globulin level. 69.6% of P-7 bridging occurred when r globulin level was above 40.0%.
5. Higher abnormality rate of SGOT, SGPT, TTT, and CCF tests were noted in P-;r bridging group than non-bridging group of liver cirrhosis.
